The short version: Mod Complex is a single-player, offline game. It has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it sends nothing about you to me.

Information collected

Mod Complex does not collect personal data.

There is no account or sign-up. The login screen in the game is part of the fiction and never asks for real details.
There is no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or advertising in the game.
The game sends nothing over the internet to me, and I don't run any servers for it.

What is stored on your device

The game keeps a save file on your computer with your progress: mod rank, achievements, gameplay statistics, and your sound and display settings. It contains no personal information and is only read by the game. You can remove it at any time by deleting the game's save folder.

How information is used

Because the game collects no personal data, there is nothing for me to use, sell or share.

Third-party services

Steam. Mod Complex is distributed through Steam. When you play through Steam, the game uses Valve's Steamworks to unlock achievements on your Steam account, and if Steam Cloud is turned on for the game, Steam may sync your save file. Valve handles that information as described in the Steam Privacy Policy. The figures Valve shows me as a developer, such as sales totals and the share of players who earned an achievement, are aggregated and do not identify you.

Discord. The game has a button that opens an invite to the community Discord server in your web browser. Nothing happens unless you click it. If you join, Discord's Privacy Policy applies to what you do there.

The game uses no other third-party services.

If you contact me

Support is handled on the community Discord server. If you post there, I see your Discord username and whatever you choose to send, as does anyone else who can read that channel. I use it only to answer you and to fix the problem. Discord stores those messages, not me.

Data retention and your rights

I hold no personal data from the game, so there is nothing for me to retain, give access to, correct or delete. Messages you post on Discord can be deleted by you at any time, and I will delete any of them on request. Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights over your personal data, such as access, correction and deletion under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR or similar laws. To use them, contact me as described below.

Children

Mod Complex does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Website hosting

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics, ads or trackers. GitHub may process technical information associated with site visits, such as IP addresses. See GitHub's Privacy Statement.

Changes to this policy

If the game's data practices change, this page and the date at the top will be updated.
